Mosaic Monday & Mellow Yellow Monday

I am combining my Mosaic Monday and Mellow Yellow Monday.Birding is just a little hobby of mine. My father was with our local Audubon society and he taught me quite a few things on birds, I couldn't help but to follow suit. Here are a few pictures I caught a couple of days ago, I love these little Goldfinches. They are a dull yellow in winter and will brighten up by spring. (I hope this counts as yellow). Sometimes these little guys will cover the thistle sock and if you look closely you can see little heads peeking out of the platform feeder. I have a variety of more birds that show up in my backyard, I hope to get pictures of soon. If you want to see more mosaics join Mary at her blog Little Red House and more Yellow items at Mellow Yellow Monday. Thank you to both for hosting these parties!!

I recently hung out a feeder for the gold finches...but, haven't had any customers yet (that I know of). You got some sweet photos of these pretty little birds.

I love watching the finches at the feeder. They provide great entertainment but I sure do have to keep filling the feeder. Here the goldfinhes already have their breeding color.

Your blog is lovely and I just love goldfinches...we had lots in our yard when we lived in CA, when my hubby was still active-duty Navy...we've been civilians for about 17 years now :)

Blessings!

I get so excited when I see a goldfinch. They're the state bird here in Washington, but they're not as numerous as they used to be. Last summer, I spent 4th of July at a bed and breakfast on a nearby island and there were lots of finches at the feeder there. I sat like a stone with the camera, trying not to scare them away.

I like your bird feeder... I don't like the ones that the birds spill all over the place then the see sprouts and I have to weed! Ha... Yes I see the yellow on those pretty little birdies! Great mosaic..
